Thank You Notes from Students and Friends of UTA

Spring 2019

May, 2019

Good evening Dr. Jordan,

It was an honor being a student in your class finally! Thank you so much for taking the time to instill knowledge into me! I wish more professors were like you. Every day is a transition for me, from the Marine Corps to the civilian world. Thanks again and enjoy your summer!

Respectfully,

LS

Dr. Jordan,

I have not had a chance to write to you since the end of classes. I want to thank you for all that you taught us about business communication. I hope this email does not let you down!

I also wanted to thank you for the grade I received and all the support you gave me in pursuing an internship. The 4.0 I got last semester was mentioned in the call I received last week from the CPA firm offering me a Spring 2020 Audit Internship. If you remember, at one of your round tables you sat next to a decision maker and gave me a recommendation. I believe this went a long way toward securing me this fantastic opportunity. It will mean a lot for both me and my family.

Again, thank you so much. Teachers that care and go the extra mile like you really make UTA a great experience. If you ever need anything (like an interviewer) please email me. RC _________________________________________________

Good morning Dr. Jordan,

I hope this email finds you well.

I wanted to share some exciting news! This week, the UTA ALPFA chapter has been recognized by nationals as the 2019 Central Region Student Chapter of the Year. We were selected as we turned an application and essay last month explaining our accomplishments this past year and why we deserve this award. The Dining Etiquette workshop did gain us points towards this award. This is thrilling news as we were able to beat other established chapters in the area. Our chapter is extremely happy!! This wouldn’t have been possible without your support and believing in us. This award goes to US! KC ______________________________________________

Fall 2018

Hello Dr. Jordan:

Since making my LinkedIn profile and resume, I have had three recruiters contact me and one person from a company schedule a phone interview! I also have a meeting with a recruiter on Monday.

I wanted to take the time to give you positive feedback from our materials and the content of your class!

Thank you -

R. R.

Hello Professor Jordan:

I am sure that you will not remember me but yesterday I remembered you! I had the pleasure of participating in my first big luncheon, and to my surprise I had a ridiculous amount of silverware staring back at me. Now, while I was hesitant in class to play with plastic plates and silverware, I am thankful for your course and just wanted to give dues where they were deserved.

Thank you. Not only for all you do as a professor but also for teaching me correct etiquette and allowing me to not look like a fool or feel embarrassed around many state representatives, council members, and the City Manager who attended the luncheon.

A very grateful past student --

S.D.

Hello:

Just wanted to send you a heads up that I was awarded the Fort Worth Sales and Marketing endowment scholarship! I got $1000 that can be put towards things like paying a babysitter so that I can go to class and other expenses not covered by my GI Bill. I could not have done it without your letter and your quick response to my email, so thank you very much.

Thanks again -

F.L.

Good evening Dr. Jordan,

I returned your book to the marketing dept. office earlier this afternoon.

I would just like to thank you so much again for allowing me to take the independent study this past summer session. Thanks to you, I will finally be able to graduate this summer without having to worry about a fall semester. I've never met such an understanding and awesome professor like yourself before at UTA. I will definitely be leaving you a 100/100 review when they get posted, you're the greatest! Anyone who takes your class will be extremely lucky!

Thank you again for everything Dr. Jordan, A.G.

Good morning Dr. Jordan. I just wanted to thank you for teaching the BCOM Maymester class. I learned a lot from your class that I did forget about (since I have been in school) and it will reinforce my education. Thank you again for helping me with studying for tests. I have always struggled with test taking. Hope you have a wonderful summer.

BCOM lecture was a wonderful hands on experience, always being partnered and learning from one another. I liked writing assignments in class where you could critique the assignment and we could also have our peer critique the assignment.

The excel assignment was very good! My first semester out of HS I took an Excel class and made an A but it was so long ago that when we did the Excel assignment for your class it brought a ton of it back and some stuff I didn't even learn before.

BCOM lab: Making our own website was very cool, and I really did like it. It made me feel confident in myself and the things that I have accomplished.

The guest speakers were a wonderful portion of the class it really made things become real and hearing some of their problems that they have faced in their lifetimes and that we're eventually going to be there one day.

Hello Dr. J

I just wanted to thank you for professing such an awesome class. I’ll be a senior next semester and I believe this is the first class to incorporate real-world activities and assignments we, as students, can take actually take with us as we venture beyond our education. Thank you for keeping the excitement up throughout the semester. I hope I returned the favor and added a little more interest in the class.

Thank you again for a great course! You are greatly appreciated.

Respectfully,

M. U.

Dear Professor Jordan:

I want to give you a huge thank you for not only being a great teacher but for being an influence in my life and teaching me many valuable things, such as maintaining a positive personality and to be open, as well as getting out there in the business world.

It was fun having the opportunity to be part of your class and being around your energetic and fun personality, as well as the engaging class atmosphere. Once again, thank you and I hope you have a great summer!

Sincerely,

H.A.

Dr. Jordan,

Southwest offered me the position!! After meeting the candidates at the group interview, I realized how competitive this was as many of them just graduated with MBAs from schools all over the country. The recruiter specifically mentioned that between my essay and your letter of recommendation, it made me stand out without having an MBA or other post-undergrad credentials.

I am very thankful for your support and am looking forward to starting in September. I will keep you posted on how it goes!

Have a great week, and again thank you for everything.

Sincerely,

S. A.

This was written by one of my interns (your student [sic]). The assignment was to say how 2 classes have helped you in your internship. - Dr. L.B.

The one class that has paid off the most with my position is my Business Communication class with Dr. Jordan. The insights she gave us regarding email etiquette and how to approach a business meeting was very valuable. I found myself thinking back to class when I answer the phone or begin an email. Now those little details have become second nature. She also taught us dining etiquette, which has come in handy when I am out to eat with our media partners.

The importance of LinkedIn was repeated many times during Dr. Jordan's course. We had to create a profile for the class as an assignment and I am very glad that we did. I have begun to follow organizations that I would like to work with in the future.

Dr. Jordan even helped me when I was no longer her student and had questions about what to do at an event I was attending.
