Experience

I teach and research in higher education. Currently, I am full-time faculty at UTA, where I teach marketing & digital communication courses to graduate and undergraduate students.

I worked as Senior Writer and an Assistant Vice President in Marketing Communications for PlainsCapital Bank's Dallas investment firm, now Hilltop Holdings, from 2011-2015, where I managed marketing proposals, reports, pitchbooks, white papers, website updates, and other digital communications for 25 offices in 14 states.

I served as the Director of Graduate Business services from 2018-2020, during the creation of our online MBA program and during the pandemic. Our office of 13 full and part time staff was responsible for recruiting, retaining, and graduating all college of business graduate students.

I served as the Business Communication Program Coordinator for the UTA College of Business (2017-2019).  I managed the meetings, assessment, and curriculum for 5 faculty members teaching 40+ business communications classes offered annually.  Curriculum innovations include the addition of mock interviews, virtual interviews, VMOCK résumé workshops,  e-portfolios, and professionalism badges.

For academic year 2020-21, I created a Canvas course for full-time faculty to assist them with the transition to online instruction.  The course covered syllabus creation, course design, student engagement, instructional help, and other types of content to assist professors who needed it. I also worked one-on-one coaching faculty on using technology during the pandemic.

I regularly present and review papers for the Marketing & Management Association, the Society of Marketing Advances, and others.
